Privacy Policy
Modern Construction & Restoration LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the HomeScan AI mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password.
- Photos: When you use the scan feature, you upload photos of areas in your home or property. These photos are transmitted to our servers for AI-powered analysis.
- User-Provided Context: Location tags, issue type selections, and optional descriptions you provide with each scan.
- Feedback Data: When you rate the accuracy of scan results, we collect your feedback along with the associated scan data to improve our AI analysis.
- Payment Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We do not directly collect or store your credit card number or payment credentials.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Usage Data: App feature usage, scan frequency, screens visited, and interaction patterns.
- Log Data: Error logs, crash reports, and performance data.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your precise GPS location.
- We do not access your contacts, calendar, or other personal data beyond photos you explicitly choose to scan.
- We do not collect biometric data.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features.
- Process your scan photos through our AI analysis system.
- Store your scan history so you can review past results.
- Manage your account and subscription status.
- Improve the accuracy of our AI analysis using anonymized feedback data.
- Send important service-related communications.
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the App.
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues.
We do NOT use your information to serve advertisements. HomeScan AI does not display ads.
3. How We Process Your Photos
- Your photo is uploaded to our secure servers hosted by Supabase.
- The photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for analysis. Anthropic does not retain your photos for training purposes.
- The photo and results are stored in your account for scan history access.
- Photos are not shared with other users.
4. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
5. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time directly within the App.
To delete your account: Open the App → tap the Settings tab → tap Delete Account → confirm deletion.
When you delete your account, the following data is immediately and permanently deleted:
- Your profile and account information (name, email)
- All scan photos you have uploaded
- All scan results, diagnoses, and repair guides
- Your scan history
- Your feedback and accuracy ratings
- All other data associated with your account
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. If you have an active Pro subscription, please cancel it through your Apple ID settings before deleting your account to avoid continued billing.
6. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active. Immediately and permanently deleted when you delete your account.
- Scan Photos and Results: Retained while your account is active. Individual scans can be deleted anytime from scan history. All scans are permanently deleted when you delete your account.
- Usage Analytics: Anonymized after 90 days. Anonymized data cannot be traced back to any individual user.
7. Data Security
We implement encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, row-level security policies, and regular security assessments. No method of transmission is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your personal information.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data directly within the App via Settings → Delete Account.
California Residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what we collect, request deletion, opt out of data sales (we don't sell data), and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will notify you within the App.
